Agroheritour4all Olympus started strong
The Agroheritour4all Olympus project, which was selected for funding under the EU’s SMP Programme as part of the DETOUR project in Greece, took its first significant step with a Heritage Interpretation and Guiding Seminar, held from 16–20 September in Rapsani, Lower Olympus.
The workshop was aimed at tour guides and mountain guides, staff at museums and cultural organisations, teachers, businesspeople, local residents, cultural associations, and representatives of local government.
Participants explored ways of presenting and interpreting local heritage in a meaningful, participatory, and sustainable manner through 8 hours of training each day.
The trainer, Penelope Gini, is certified by the European organisation Interpret Europe in the method of interpreting Cultural and Natural Heritage.
Participation was free and included accommodation in Rapsani, meals, training, and membership of the Interpret Europe network.
